Yay! I'm so excited for the show tonight!! I haven't been to a concert in a while. I'm hoping that the crowd will be better than that other TMBG show I was at, and that it was a crummy crowd just because of the geographic locale. However, I was listening to that Bowery Ballroom concert recording and it was making me very excited for the show!
There isn't even a specific song I'm hoping they'll play because I know whatever they do play is gonna be amazing! Ok, well I would really like to hear Climbing the Walls, but anything will be great!

So yeah, I'll post in this thread and give a review of the show tonight or tomorrow!

but I'm a little disappointed about how the tmbg newsletters were like omgomg chicago sellout! and its not sold out, because then I could have gotten my ticket at the venue and saved $15 because of no ticketgouge.. er ticketmaster fees. Not so much for me, but for my buddy who is really strapped for cash who is going with me.

I just got back from the show and it was amazing!!

It did end up selling out!
It was at a really sweet venue that I'd never been to before, and the crowd was good!

I had so much fun. Oppenheimer was solid. I liked their show even though I didn't buy their cd or anything and wouldn't really listen to it. It seemed they played for the perfect amount of time too.

Then TMBG came on and it was just awesome.
They rocked so hard. It was perfect, they played all the songs I wanted to see but didn't when I saw them this summer like Why Does The Sun Shine and Fingertips and Drink! and The Mesopotamians. There was no phonecalls from the dead, but they had "worlds largest pretend intervention" to the song Drink! which was funny. Whenever They sang the word 'drink' in the song, the balcony yelled "NO!" and the floor yelled "WAIT!" It was great.

They had the "Triceratops Horns" with them, which were like the Velcro Horns, but no Mark Pender (another trumped dude that rocked!).

They were also much tighter on the Else songs they played. They made a bunch of lyric slip ups when I saw them this summer, but it was perfect this time around.

They played for almost a full two hours, which was awesome.

Yeah, where were you standing, Thunderbird? I was standing at the railing on the second tier up from the floor on the left side of the middle section (blah complicated description) wearing a green shirt.
Also, I don't think I would recognize you had I seen you.

But yeah, such a good show.

It was my friend's very first concert, and I think he had a good time tmbgtalk/trippy.gif

I was standing about four rows back from the stage, in front of Dan Miller. Which, strangely, is where I was last time they came to The Vic.

tmbgtalk/tmbgtalk_omg.gif The woman who runs that website, she graduated from my school and now teaches here! The website is hosted on our school's webspace, with her ucID, so looked her up in the school directory and it says shes a uchicago alum, and a lecturer (teaches french). I looked her up on the teacher evaluations webpage, and everyone liked her as a french teacher haha. Shes also on facebook tmbgtalk/tmbgtalk_lol5.gif

She has an epic number of shows listed she's been to on there! She's a TMBG superfan!

biff- 11-14-2007
