my slightly repetitive review...
ok, let me start by saying i'm writing this on 4 hours of sleep.

it was fantastic!
we made real good time on the way up. we were all set to get there by a little after 5, but then we hit a traffic jam right at the end, & the last 3 miles took about 45 minutes.

we got there about 6:15 or so. there was a line, but it wasn't horrible. i saw flame as soon as we got there. she was easy to spot. she's just as cute as a button! she was right at the front of the line, with her Dad. he's real nice, & i liked him a lot. i gave her a big hug.
she made me a birthday card on the bus on the way there! it's awesome. i'll post the scan soon.

i can't imagine being able to draw that great in a moving vehicle.

she's amazing.
i also met chaos by design. (sorry i don't remember exactly how she spells it here at the moment) she was real friendly.

we didn't get to lean on the stage because of our lateness, but we were the 2nd row back standing. not bad.

flame was against the stage at first, but she sacrificed her spot to stand with me.

the opening band "Oppenheimer" was great! they are are 2 guys from Northern Ireland. they sounded like way more than 2 guys though.

we bought their CD after the show, & got to meet em. they are really nice. they aren't huge Hurling fans, but they like it ok.

(they are the first Irish people we ever met, so we
had to ask em)

they have a MySpace. i'll find the link when i get a chance, in case anybody wants to check em out.
http://www.myspace.com/oppenheimeri thought i was gonna miss Corn Mo, but they wiped him right out of my brain.

after their set, TMBG came out!

(i'm posting all the videos i made on here) i got the set list from the wiki, cuz my memory sux.

the biggest surprise for me was when they did Puppet Head. i've never seen them do that one live before.

it was also surprising that they
didn't do Clap Your Hands, James K Polk, John Lee Supertaster, or Fingertips.

no offense, but it was kinda nice, cuz they used to play those songs every time... & then Noah would tease about it after.
i was happy they did Dr Worm. i've seen them 4 times, & i've seen them play it 5 times.

it's kind of a tradition.
Phone Calls From Beyond The Grave was hilarious.

as you can see, they did a LOT of songs from The Else, which was cool. i wanted The Mesopotamians more than anything. when they did Memo To Human Resources, Linny got confused & almost started playing it, & then they joked about it, so i knew it was coming.

i didn't make a video of it though, cuz i wanted to just experience it... you know? i got the Mesopotamians shirt after the show.

Dan Miller did some awesome solos, as did Danny & Marty. i love those guys.

the banter was great. Linny was especially funny. it was the most animated i have ever seen him.

The Alphabet Of Nations was exceptionally enjoyable too. i wish i woulda videoed it. i took a few pix, but they didn't turn out.

i didn't get to meet anybody after, but from what i've been reading, Flansy DID sign autographs. i don't know where he was though. he apparently wasn't that into it, also from what i've been reading around the net. maybe it was cuz of the 2 crazy chicks who screamed & made out in the front row through the whole thing.

i got each of the kids a vinyl Else album after, & one for me. i also got Noah a new copy of The Spine Surfs Alone, cuz he lost his old one. Nathan went in with me on a snowman hoodie, cuz they're pretty expensive. i also got the Oppenheimer CD & they signed it for us. we talked about the Hurling with em.

they are sweet guys, & real fun to talk to with their cute Irish accents.

i spent like 140 bux on merch. not too bad, really, when you consider how much shipping i woulda had to pay if i got it all online. (& 20 bux of it was Nathan's)

the girl at the t-shirt stand was happy that i had cash.

i asked if she had any They skull stickers, but she was out. when she saw i had cash she was all like "if i had any skull stickers left i would give you some for free!" nice sentiment, but it didn't do me much good.

we got turned around like 3 times on the way home, but we knew it every time, so we never actually got lost. poor galoot was so tired he could barely think straight. next time i'm gonna get us a room. i don't care how many times he tells me not to.

it was fun, i loved it, & we're thinking about going down for the Memphis show in November. we could stay with one of the kids, & do the whole family thing again. after galoot recovers i'm gonna start workin on him.

i hope that was an ok review.

i'm not much of a writer.

here's a video to hold you...

i fixed the sound as good as i could.

we were right in front of a speaker & it was really LOUD.

*edit* i have now added my written review. it's a bit repetitive, cuz i wrote the part before the set list on Sunday & the rest this morning.

hopefully you'll get the jist though...
