sometimes real life has to interrupt the flow of the pod - but we have some cool stuff cookin'.

I hope that's not some cryptic way of saying something bad happened to them or someone they know. I know that's why the Brothers Chaps stopped producing content for a long time... tmbgtalk/-frown.gif

yeah, i got worried about the same sort of thing. tmbgtalk/00000ohnoes.gif

Here's the funny thing about this concert... it's too early for me to make it there on time from school. However, I'm heading to Chicago tomorrow morning (Rosemont/Schaumburg, actually) for a Stargate Convention, so I'm basically going to go all the way up there, and miss TMBG by 1/2 a day! Grr. tmbgtalk/-freak.gif

have you ever heard of a town called Bensenville? that's where i lived. i think it's more of a neighbourhood than a town now. anyhoo, i was born at the hospital in Elmhurst. tmbgtalk/dunno.gif

How cool is that? I was born in that same hospital. tmbgtalk/Twilight_anim.gif

Oh, and T-Bird & Casey, if you DO bring a camera, just make sure the flash is off for pics during the show. It attracts a lot less attention, and usually the stage lighting is sufficient to illuminate your subject.

Just got back from the concert, I'll post a review tomorrow. I'm too tired to write one up now. However, I will tell you the setlist. (Should I post the review in a different thread?)

Snail Shell, New York City, Istanbul, Damn Good Times (changed to Dang Good Times), Why Does the Sun Shine, Bee of the Bird of the Moth, In the Middle, Boss of Me (short version), James K. Polk (no confetti), Older, Don't Let's Start, We Live In a Dump, Spider, Guitar, Everybody Conga, No One Knows My Plan, Drink!, Famous Polka, Alphabet of Nations, Dr. Worm, The Cap'm, Asbury Park, Twistin'

Encore:
Particle Man, Experimental Film, Birdhouse in Your Soul, We're the Replacements

Careful What You Pack was written on the set list but not played. How do I know this do you ask? I got Iggy, the lighting guy's, setlist! tmbgtalk/-grnbiggrin.gif

Thunderbird- 08-26-2006
Ah, I wondered what "Rhythm" meant on the setlist.

DominEl- 08-26-2006
Ah, yes... I'm looking forward to asking Casey about it!

I want to see their shows so badly ='(.

I'm not 16 for about half a year... D=.

That's what I wanna do for my birthday (if they're touring), go to a concert!

biff- 08-26-2006
it's the funnest thing ever! tmbgtalk/104.gif

i forget how old my kids were the first time we took em to see TMBG. tmbgtalk/icon2.gif they were both still in high school i know. it's probably easier to get in when you're with your parents though. tmbgtalk/-laugh.gif i think the rules everywhere are stricter now, in general. tmbgtalk/dunno.gif

anyhoo, one is in one shower, & the other is in the other, but when they come out i'll ask em how old they were. tmbgtalk/-th-u.gif

Well, it's not like they can tell the difference between a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old. tmbgtalk/-wink.gif

biff- 08-26-2006
as long as it's an all ages show. otherwise they'll card ya. tmbgtalk/dunno.gif

i asked Noah. he said he was 18, so Nathan woulda been 15. it was at the Pageant though, & they're really cool about minors.

the first time we saw em (in Fayetteville AR) the kids were too young to go. tmbgtalk/0sighguy.gif that was the only thing i didn't like about my first live TMBG experience.

RandomCasey- 08-26-2006
=o That was the single greatest experience I've had in my (short) life. tmbgtalk/000000icon_dancesmiley.gif

Around 5, I was sitting and watching the soundcheck, and Iggy walked by several times. That's when I realized what was going on. I was seeing TMBG..!! It had finally hit me. : P

Tally Hall opened, everyone seemed to love them. They were short and sweet. The Bad Examples came on, and they were all right, but went on far too long. (Maybe I was just anxious?) After everyone had clamored up to the stage (I was about 2 people away, close enough to touch it. [How lucky am I?!]) Dan Miller waltz out, followed by Weinkauf, then Beller, then Flans, and finally Linnell. They started out playing Snail Shell, and my brain immidiately exploded. It was FANTASTIC! The conga line before No One Knows My Plan threatened to knock me out of my spot, but I wasn't gonna let that happen. They played Don't Let's Start, which made me quite pleased. The all ages angle of the show prompted them to change Damn Good Times to Dang Good Times, and Drink! was about a "very, very thirsty person". And when Linnell said "That was screwed up..." after the beginning of In The Middle got flubbed... Flans said, "Ix-nay on that anguage-lay, Mr. Linnell..." That was my favorite thing. XD At the end, the audience chanted "one more song!" and they came out and played four, ending with We're The Replacements.

Not much a review, but, it was my first time. I was too overwhelmed to think. Heh. I'm probably leaving 2349 important thing outta that there.

biff- 08-26-2006
awwww! tmbgtalk/+daz.gif i'm glad you enjoyed your first show so much, Casey. tmbgtalk/-grnbiggrin.gif

did you ever see T-Bird? tmbgtalk/icon2.gif
