I must first say how amazing the show was. The crowd was into it the entire time, the song selection was kickin', and the venue was really great and it impressed Flansy to be in such a nice place. I brought along The Else to play in the car to prepare my dad for what he may be in for, since I figured they'd play a lot of songs from that album. We got there around 6:45 and they weren't scheduled to go on until about 7:30, so we found ourselves some good seats close to the stage, but not super close (maybe 7 or 8 rows back) and along the aisle on the far right. They kept showing a run-down of all the performances they were having this weekend on what day and what stage. Each time TMBG was shown on that, we all broke out into a large applause.
Then two guys came out and welcomed us, showed us all the sponsors, and said TMBG would be out in a few minutes. After some more waiting, the lights came off and a song I can't remember played as they rushed onto the stage and everyone erupted with applause for them. With each song, I wrote it down on a little notepad thing I brought along. I'll list all the songs they performed in order now so you can have an idea of what they played:
Alphabet of Nations, Damn Good Times, I'm Impressed, Take Out The Trash, Birdhouse In Your Soul (where everyone wanted to sing along with them since everyone loves that song), The Guitar (The Lion Sleeps Tonight), Why Does The Sun Shine?, Older, Particle Man (with the audience told to clap to the back beat), The Famous Polka, Doctor Worm, New York City, Withered Hope, Fingertips, then Flans introduced the band to the beat/tune of Put Your Hand On the Computer, then they finished up with The Mesopotamians.
Then they left the stage, and we all stayed and applauded for a couple minutes until they came right back out again as we all expected they might, and Flans asked us on the ground floor to shout "No!" after he said "Drink!" and for the folks in the balcony seats to shout "Wait!" after us. Had us test it out and it didn't go well, so we did it again and he said it worked better. Then they performed Drink! and us ground people shouted "No!" every time they said drink in the song. Then Dan Miller did a solo on an acoustic guitar and that ended up leading into Istanbul (Not Constantinople). Once they finished that song, they thanked us for being a great audience and left for good, and we exited the stage area. They told us during the show that there was a merchandise stand someplace in the building, but they weren't going to say where (as Flans said "It's not for the audience to know." Linnell added "Or for the band to know, either.") Flans also said "It can be like your "Where's Waldo?" or Harry Potter search to try and find it." I found it after the show, and bought myself a new TMBG shirt for $25. I got a picture of me holding it up that I'll post later.
After that, we came home and it was about 9:10 or so. I just did other things before I got on the computer. It was an extremely awesome and fun show, and I'm really glad I got to go.

I was at this show as well. I live in Toledo, which is luckily equal distance to Cleveland and Detroit. Good stuff!! They did an excellent Fingertips that night. and the theater was absolutely awesome.

As for the shirt I got, I took the sky/light blue president heads one where it shows four Presidents on the front with a speech bubble reading TMBG over their head, then another on the back with ! in the speech bubble. I liked the randomness of it, so I chose it.

that's a cool shirt. i have it in olive green. (that's Jimmy Carter on the back)
wow azunk, you hit the jackpot!
pichupal213- 07-24-2007
Yeah, we figured out it was Carter on the back, then Lincoln, FDR, Nixon, and Teddy Roosevelt on the front. Had to get my dad and brother's help to figure out it was FDR, though.

galoot likes Lincoln & Teddy best on mine. (cuz he likes to go "this one is Lincoln"... & point him out... if you know what i mean)
Carter is off center on the back of mine. it's just my luck...
