Just got back from seeing TMBG, where CornMo put on another spectacular opening set. His song intros are as hilarious and unique as his songs. He's also a really nice guy, and I got to meet him after the show. We talked about how he only plays Freebird when some drunk guy yells out for it. His rendition of We Are The Champions is truly amazing, and awe-inspiring, however.

Our seats were ok, maybe 12 rows up or so, all the way on the side. Luckily, the Egg didnt sell out, so while we were moving up to take better seats, we spotted 2 open seats in the 3rd row, center. No one was using them (as the guy's friends cancelled on him) and we all of a sudden had the best seats in the house!

The Johns put on their usualy spectacular show. Started out with a special venue song The Egg (no corners for you, at the Egg) and went into She's an Angel (perhaps one of the few songs left I havent heard in concert and want to). No guitar, istanbul, or spin the dial, but we did get a kick ass version of Particle Man. I will definitely be paying the $10 to download this show from theymightbegiants.com

No Guitar? Now that's a change! Did they play any of the Children's DVD songs? Any Alphabet of Nations or Fake Believe?

Glad you enjoyed the show!

My favorite song by the Mo has got to be Buesy(sp?) Boy

All the stories he tells are so good. Does he include them on the tape he sells?

biff- 09-19-2004
i don't know, but you can read a bunch of his stories at his website. tmbgtalk/-th-u.gif

tmbgtalk/yes.gif "I'm Not Your Gary Busey Boy" was great; I thought "The Day Jason Kline Cried" was pretty hysterical, too. tmbgtalk/-lol2.gif
