Oprah Winfrey is gonna be on Letterman tonight!

i never thought i'd see the day. i even bought VCR blankies, just so i could get it on tape.

in other TV news... i finally figured out the ultimate message of Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer last night, after seeing it like 1000 times! wanna know what it is???

i only half watched. i'm not a Regis fan.

Dave is always mean to him though.

regis is like shatner on acid and we don't get any of his shows so I don't see him enough to get sick of him

after that 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?' every night of the week thang, i decided to hate his guts.

Oprah's a kiss ass. I couldn't care less about the feud or the show.

Dave's show used to be really funny. It's got some funny bits to it, now, but I can't watch it for long. Jimmy Kimmel's funnier. I hardly stay up that late anyway, but when I do, Jimmy's on.

well, i stayed up to watch. Dave fawned all over her, just like i expected. i missed what he said after she left, cuz i was too sleepy to stay up anymore.

I stayed up to watch it, too. I had a good chuckle when she gave Dave an autographed photo of herself and Uma Thurman (in reference to Dave's infamous Oscar-hosting gig in '95, where he did that "Oprah, Uma; Uma, Oprah" bit).

yeah, that was cute.

I remember that bit from the Oscars. What was the boycott for anyway?

well, i think it goes like this...

she was on once, 16 1/2 years ago. after that, he's asked her to be on hundreds of times, but she always turned him down. allegedly it was because she didn't like all the fat Oprah jokes. (but Jay Leno does the same kind of jokes, & she never held it against him) anyhoo, she said there was never a feud... so who knows?

the play "The Color Purple" which she bankrolled, was opening for the first time right across the street from the Ed Sullivan Theater, where Dave does his show, so i would imagine that had a lot to do with thawing the ice between them. also, when Dave's son Harry was born, she sent him a huge basket full of books as a gift. she said when he became a Dad it softened him a bit. she said she noticed a 'sweetness' that wasn't there before.

anyhoo, it was basically a lovefest all around.

Oprah's brilliant. And, she's another one of my idols. Rob Zombie and Oprah.
