they'll feel awful, but they'll get over it.

your job as a parent is to get em grown & then encourage them to live the life they want. kids don't ask to be born. my kids owe me nothing. i owe them everything. all i want for them is everything they want for themselves.

me & galoot still have a pretty good time without em. i think that was the nicest surprise i got when they both left.

life is good... & they're always just a phone call away.

speaking of which... i got the weirdest phone call last night!

it was almost 10, & i was watching Hedwig when it rang. i looked at the caller ID & it was a name i'd never seen before. when i answered it was some guy asking for galoot. i said he was asleep & i'd be happy to take a message. he asked if i had a son named Nathan. i said yes. he said he was the manager at some pizza place there in Little Rock & he had found his wallet! it had his driver's license, social security card, debit card, & insurance card in it. he knows someone who works at the same place as galoot which was on the insurance card.

he called em & had em look galoot up in the phone book, & that's how he got our number!

i gave him Nathan's # & he called him. he put his wallet in the safe & he's gonna go pick it up today.

it is a very small world.

thank goodness someone nice found it!

then Natey called to tell me about it, & i didn't end up finishing Hedwig till 11:30, which is a whole story in itself.

man i'm sleepy this morning.
