i saw a story on the ABC news about how the Army has denied benefits to troops who came home with post traumatic stress disorder on the grounds that they were messed up before they left! if that was the case, they wouldn't have been allowed into the military in the first place.
& then their are the soldiers who sustained severe brain injuries & got help at their really good hospitals & made good progress, & then when they went back home to where they lived, they couldn't get any help & backslided in their recovery.
if not for Bob Woodruff (the ABC reporter who almost got killed in Iraq) nobody would even know about it. i think that's why he got hurt in the first place. kind of a cosmic blessing in disguise kind of deal.
galoot knows someone with a kid in the Guard. they deployed their kid for one day less than it would have taken to keep them home when they got back. now they have the possibility of redeployment hanging over their head.

VOTE FOR BILL RICHARDSON!!! he & Kucinich are the only 2 candidates who plan to bring em ALL home if they are elected. all the others, even the Democrats, say they would leave some residual troops behind.
