This game is insane. There's 12 racers, 16 new levels and 16 classic (SNES/N64/GBA/GCN) levels. Plus, the graphics are unbelievably good for a handheld, and the game feels at least 5x smoother than the N64 version, which was my favorite. MKDS, however, is definitely, without a doubt, the greatest Mario Kart game yet. Not only does it have the classic Grand Prix, VS, and Battle modes, but you can play them all with CPUs. And then, there's the amazing multiplayer. Up to eight people within 60ft can wirelessly play each other, and you can play online using the new Nintendo WiFi Connection, which is just as awesome as the game. At any time, I can play my friends or anyone anywhere in the world with Nintendo's completely free wireless internet for the DS, and it's unbelievably addictive. I just played against my friend Jeremy for an hour using the DS's wireless internet connection, both in our own houses. If you have a Nintendo DS, get the game. It's only $35. If you don't have a Nintendo DS, the holidays are coming up.

Anyone without a DS and also looking to pick one up (like me) might also want to keep an eye on Target stores, as it is supposedly going to be on sale for $100 (~$20 off) sometime soon.
Mario Kart looks like a pretty cool game, it'll definately be one of the first games I pick up when I get a DS.

Got it for xmas. I love this series
I have to say, though, I'm a bit underwhelmed by the tracks

silly rabbit, DS is for kids! For full hand-held satisfaction, please pick up a PSP. It will knock the socks off of the "just like the N64" mindset, and replace it with "just like PS2"

PSP doesn't have Mario. Therefore, DS > PSP.
I <3 N64 about 50 times more than the PS2.

Technically PSP has more Mario than the DS, just not officially. Plenty of emulators on PSP's with 1.0 and 1.5 firmware. But yeah, they both have their high points and low points, enjoy whatever you have.

Who needs illegal emulation when the Nintendo Revolution will have Nintendo's ENTIRE back catalog available for play legally?

they're working on patches to where you can download games from nintendo, super nintendo and even N64 games online that run on emulators. so you can turn you PSP into mario playing GOLD MINE!!! well at least when they're done cracking it. I never liked mario much anyway what's so great about an italian plumber anyway?
WithACapitalQ- 01-14-2006
Possibly the fact that he's the greatest video game character ever and stars in the greatest video games ever.
klimdeeni- 01-16-2006

oh ok, then what's so great about jumping on walking mushrooms and flying turtles? I'd rather you give me a gun so I can blow some gangsters away, or to steal a motorcycle and drive around the city!
3 words for you, GRAND THEFT AUTO!! GTA > Mario

That's why I bought a DS, though. And a DS is $100 cheaper. Also, Grand Theft Auto is a great series, but think about it, it was bound to be created now or later. It's an uncreative idea that was well-executed, but Mario is a legend and his games are unbeatable and unforgettable. It's been 21 years since Super Mario Bros came out, and it's still making #1 on almost every video game Top 10 list. Who the hell's gonna remember GTA in 21 years, other than Jack Thompson?
Cronny- 01-17-2006
I dunno... It's pretty popular. I think it'll be remembered.
I mean, I'm on your side and all, but I just felt like playing devil's advocate
