Macworld News Alert
January 9th, 2007
Breaking news from Macworld - The Mac Product Experts
===============================================

Here's a special news alert from Macworld: Steve Jobs took to the
stage today to deliver his Macworld Expo keynote address, unveiling
two new products. The first is Apple TV, a $299 set-top box that
streams multimedia from your computer to your television. First
introduced as iTV back in September, Apple TV will ship in February.

Also during his Macworld keynote, Jobs took the wraps off a product he
said had been in the works for two-and-a-half years -- the iPhone. The
product, available in June, brings together several features of the
iPod, digital camera, smartphones and even portable computing to one
device, with a widescreen display and an innovative input method.

Yeah, I used to go to those things all the time. I haven't had a chance to go recently, though. It's a pale shadow of the dot-com heyday.

Back when I lived in Boulder, I wrote a user group newsletter for a local Bulletin Board. My buddy and I drove to MacWorld in SF, and when we got there, we put our badges in as "Editor, Happyland Monitor" - Happyland was the name of the BBS and the Happyland Monitor was the newsletter.

Well, that was sheer brilliance. People would see our badge, and then literally give us software and books for us to "review" for our newsletter. I must have walked away with about 10 books and 3 or 4 software apps. It was sweet, but the software was blowy.

Suckas!

I was also there when they filmed Sandra Bullock's The Net. But I didn't get to see her cuz they had that part of the expo cordoned off.
