well basically they're totally corrupt,

they was this Chick that was travelling to Balli for a holiday and some dodgy castoms guys at the airport put a 4.1kg bag of marajuana in her bag to smuggle it into indonesia where another lot of corrupt customs guys were supposed to taake it out, but her bag got checked by a different customs guy so she was arrested and found guilty of drug smuggling when she was clearly innocent. then they had to plead the freakin death penalty off the table for 4.1kg of pot. and was eventually sentenced to 20 years in a prison where your family have to supply food cos the prison doesn't, and now the procecution is appealing to have it changed to life imprisonment, in some god forsaken hell whole

and this is after Australia and NZ donated millions of dollars to help them out after the tsunami

almost their entire econony is based on Australian tourism to Bali and now everyones Boycotting them so they'll soon be an even poorer slum hole of a country and they deserve every bit of it

this is totally unrelated but i heard about a guy today (in the US somewhere, i forget) who was getting out of jail today. he had served 35 years for stealing a black & white TV set, worth about a hundred bucks. the same offense today would get you like 6 months.

i don't think anybody should get busted for pot. it's less harmful than alcohol, & alcohol is legal. she got the shaft.

HG -- I've been following Schapelle's case -- it is just wrong what she has been put through. For pot -- for pot she gets 20 years in prison. He's right they could have given her the death penalty which is a firing squad. There is a smuggling ring that just got busted and they wouldn't take any of that into consideration in her case. Bali has some really strict rules regarding drugs -- so why would she have risked it. I pray her lawyers are able to move her back to Australia. I have a girlfriend in Australia who said she is in the same prison as the Bali bomber -- who got 20 months for killing 88 Australians and she can not go out into the yard because he harasses her. *grr*

yeah I forgot to mentian that, a mass murderer get's less than 2 years and she gets 20 and they're tring to make it life. it's so wrong as to be utterly unfathomably
