The Halflife series if by far my favorite. Anyone else getting it?

Pre-ordered it a month ago, played up to Chapter 4 last night. Unbelievable game (and the graphics are INSANE).

I don't know which chapter I'm at yet, but it's incredible! I just blew up a gun ship in a hospital

Anyway, I just beat it, and the ending is awesome! spoiler: Although, it would have been cool to seen the G-Man again. Oh well.

After the credits are over, DON'T QUIT! It goes back to your desktop to fake you out, but don't touch anything, and it will give you a teaser for Episode 2. Looks amazing! God, I hope there's not a huge wait for it.

By the way, what difficulty setting are you playing on? I'm on hard because I want the gameplay to last a long as possible, and halflife2 is the kind of game where it's fun to repeatedly try to do something until you get it right. It's never tedious.

I beat it yesterday, and was playing on hard (though I started on normal). The trailer for Episode Two does, indeed, look unbelievable. Guess I'll go back and play HL2: Ep One with the commentary now.

I pissed myself off real bad cos I got half life 2 the otherday and I was used to games being set to normal as default and I got like halfway through going man this is kinda boring and easy and theres not nearly enough bad guys to shoot and they're all so dumb, and then I finally figured out what had happened so I pretty much ruined the first half of the game for myself

Yeah, I don't know why they chose to make that the default Makes no sense to me...

just finished it tonight, my biggest critisism of the game is that it really assumes you've played the first game, which I suppose is reasonable but I hadn't so I felt like I lost alot from not having the universe and the characters set up properly, the game never explains who the gogglemen are or what they're doing or why they're doing it, it's just like you wake up on a train and go around doing what your told. probably even watching the opening sequence of the first game would have helped out on that level

Asside from explaining how the portal to the other dimension opens up, HL1 doesn't explain much either. The "Combine" aren't even in it. You're pretty much on the same page as everyone else. They're gonna give us most of the answers in the new games. At least I hope they do...
