i wanna download this Gimp thing, but i can't for the life of me figure out how to download it & install it. it's like they're talking in a foreign language or something.

Note the requirement of X11, which you may have to install. It provides some direction in that regard.

i'm always scared to put that disc in. i'm afraid something bad will happen. i guess i'll chance it though...

ps... is there anything special i should know before i try it? should i quit everything first, or restart first or anything?

i didn't restart with the disc in, i just put it in & did what it told me & it worked.

man, i got lots of learning to do. Gimp is totally different than Photoimpression.

yeah it's way different from photoshop too...

but it actually gives you tips, so that's a happy.
