tmbgtalk/-laugh.gif the gas is ok, but as far as highs go, it's pretty fleeting. it doesn't last long at all. tmbgtalk/-wink.gif

i'll be fine. i've had a few days to get used to the idea. now i'm back in my fuzzy warm little cocoon of denial till March 29th. tmbgtalk/-grnbiggrin.gif

there are worse things... like teeth that hurt all the time for instance. at least crowns don't rot. tmbgtalk/-wink.gif

Wow, Horrid, that's weird about the eye ... I've had lasik surgery, and i can tell you that they did NOT anesthetize my eye. Maybe your friend should look for a different surgeon. Seriously.

1) The eyeball does not have any nerve endings, and therefore does not need to be anesthetized.
2) When I had my surgery, they used anaesthetic eyedrops, to anesthetize the eyelids.

Tell your friend to not breathe through his nose. Otherwise he'll smell them smokin' his eyeball and it smells like burning hair. >blech<

I can't imagine why a doctor would advocate getting an injection in the eyeball. May be time for a second opinion?

man, that vision correction surgery scares the crap outta me. tmbgtalk/aD.emo Pack 1.png do you see halos at night? tmbgtalk/aD.emo Pack 1.png a lot of people have really been messed up by it.

i'm kinda touchy about my eyes anyway. my old Opthamologist used to have a devil of a time lookin in there. even on the really messed up one that barely sees. he'd come at me with that looker inner thingy, & i'd turn into a blinkin machine. tmbgtalk/-laugh.gif

awww... now i kinda miss good old Dr Oleson. tmbgtalk/+daz.gif fuzzy memiries...

I was nervous, but everything went really well. I had no complications, and have no halos. It was pretty much the best I could have expected.

The weird thing was that for 2 years I had nightmares about my cornea separating and me losing it. That freaked me out for a while, but I don't have those nightmares anymore. I even got a videotape of the whole thing...maybe I can make a video out of it ... that would be kinda cool.

It didn't hurt, not one bit. And I was already used to touching my eyes after years of wearing contact lenses, so it's no big deal for me or anyone else to touch my eye.
