no, i don't mean like that, Vy. i mean people who are mean, & like to kick someone when they're down. you're not like that at all. you're a sweetheart. i'm talkin about toxic people.

I just left the WORST message board I've EVER been to in my ENTIRE LIFE!! Since I got there, they treated me like the biggest waste of human organs on the planet. I said that they'd probably be happy if I left. They said "YES, PLEASE!" I only bothered getting 9 posts. 3 of them were uncontested, the rest were nasty replies shouting bad things at me. It was like they had never heard of a little invention called "Rules." I happily left them today after one last, giant post. I'm sure they will be relieved to see my post saying I'm gone. In fact, I feel a lot better now that I've left. Only one person even tried to be nice to me and that was in reply to my intro. He/she said "Welcome, have a nice stay" to me. NOBODY ELSE EVEN BOTHERE SAYING WELCOME!!! That same person had a birthday topic, which is where my biggest argument was with them I apologized to the person for clogging up there birthday topic with it and said happy birthday to him/her to make everybody else shut up who was hounding me. They were very tempremental. I almost feel sorry for them becasue they will never see ANY of my stories there.

It feels good to post this all someplace.

That sort of reminds me of something that happened in LiveJournal's "tmbg" community last week... "Paradox," the administrator of the TMBGNET.com website, posted a message saying that his/her site would be going under some renovations and it would be down until January -- and then he/she got a lot of nasty replies (especially from people who had never heard of the site or never had any use for it) accusing him/her of being a spammer. He/she tried to defend him-/herself by explaining that he/she WASN'T just using the board to advertise about his/her site, and that he/she has actually HAS posted about other things; and he/she even got a couple of nice replies (including one from me), but to no avail -- some jackass decided to delete the whole thread. So Paradox posted another message to ask us whether it was fair or not that his/her original message was deleted. He/she got a few more nice responses this time, telling him/her that as long as it had been a TMBG-related message, it should've been left alone; but he/she still got quite a few nasty responses, too.

A couple of people on this new thread got fed up and said something on the lines of "Can we just let this go?" I think by Saturday night, it finally stopped being dragged out... But it shouldn't have been carried out as far as it was -- the people who just didn't care about Paradox's original message should've simply ignored it.

paradox is a he, & he's nice. (i don't know him personally, but he was cool to me when i emailed him my links & stuff) i like his site, but it doesn't work right on my computer. that's ok though, it just takes a little more effort to navigate it.

anyhoo, it sux that paradox got picked on, & it sucks that you got picked on at that other board, pichu. i don't know why people gotta be like that.

stuff like that has happened to me too. that's why this place exists in the first place. i need to feel like i have a little control in a situation. at least around here if someone is an @$$hole, i can run em off. if people can't be nice, they can go post at livejournal or something, & leave me alone.

I've met a few nice people in the Yahoo! groups and LiveJournal communities I'm in, but I enjoy this particular board more than anything because I know it's being run by a truly nice, decent person -- so there's no chance of seeing people get flamed, or of getting flamed myself. And like you said, if that kind of crap IS going on, you can just run off the people who are doing it.

yeah, i'm not saying that everyone at LJ are mean, cuz i know a lot of em & they're nice. i just like for everybody to be nice. one bad apple & all that.

i blame it on my days at rz.com where i got in a fight just about every day. it was messing up my real life. i'm too old to deal with that kind of stuff anymore.

That's why I like the people at DTD and the people here. I know I won't be flamed to no end. I've been to some oother Pokémon board before, and I made 2 little mistakes and they went ballistic over it. They even used me as an example of what NOT to do. I was so mad that I just left. I finally went back to check on it, and it was dead, I think. So, I laughed my head off at them for it. I thought that was bad, but that other place called "Amidst the Stars" (it's a Kirby board) was terribly worse. I only had 9 total posts, too! I was only there a measly 3 days and they chased me off. I asked if they would be happy if I left, and they said "YES, PLEASE." I was so insulted. One of them was a mod, too! The admin did NOTHING at all to stop it either! One of them yelled at me just because I called them a male when they were a female. I had neveer been tehre before, never met the person, and she expected me to know she was a girl?! What a bitch she was.

some people are just jerks, pichu. there's not much you can do about it. you can't exactly take em back & raise em right or anything.
