I met four guys that i never want to meet agian in my life, on friday night. I forgot what i done saturday, but i am pretty sure it would have to do with griping.... now SUNDAY!! OMG! Argh, Microsoft! Your OS is full of holes, and your updates to fix them are broken too! 18 updates and not a single one could be installed.

Have you had "winfixer" pop up on you, too?

I had that happen to me a couple nights ago, and it was almost as bad as that time I had spyware -- the thing kept popping up, no matter how many times I clicked on "No" and "Cancel". Last night, I went in and deleted as many embedded "winfixer" files as I could find, and I heightened the security on my Norton's Firewall -- since then, I haven't had any more problems (knock on wood)...

EDIT: No, nothing like that, I just downloaded a bunch of updates off of MS's site and none of them would install.

It's just really frustrating to have to download a bunch of crap that doesn't work.

Download new update software -> Prove to Microsoft that I'm not a pirate (Genuine "Advantage" my ass) -> Download ****ton of updates -> ****ton of updates don't work ->

Looks like it might be time to do a little surgery on my computer. A couple new hard-drives (to replace this cheap-ass one in my comp now that I KNOW is gonna break) and an OEM copy of XP Pro (So I have an install without a bunch of useless crap) would do quite nicely.

i don't know what i'm angry about, but i'll find out soon enough.

i'm kinda mad that the weekend's over, & i felt like crap the whole time.

When I logged off last night, I went to scan and defragment my hard drive -- apparently, that "winfixer" that had popped up on me must've embedded itself so far into my C drive that neither ScanDisk nor Defrag would work on it.

I got ahold of my dad about this, and he suggested that we wipe the C drive and reload Windows, Firewall, the printer, and all that other stuff. We got a little bit of that done late last night, then we resumed it and finished it this morning -- so now everything is definitely is good working order.

that's good.

Again with the faxes, it's 2 O'clock in the damn morning!

i don't have a fax machine.
